  Mount Huangshan, One of the symbols of the charming and beautiful land of China, infatuates all visitors with its unparalleled fascination.
    Huangshan incorporates famous mountains and scenic beauties and is called "the Most Spectacular Under Heaven". There is a well-known saying by the great traveller Xu Xiake of the Ming Dynasty, "After you have climbed Huangshan, your trip to any other mountains would be not worthwhile!"
    With an area of 154 square kilometres, the scenic spots of Huangshan amount to over 400. Among them, the Lotus Peak, the Bright Peak, the Heavenly Capital Peak are all over 1,800 metres above sea level. Huangshan presents its beauty and peculiarities everywhere all the year round. It is chosen as one of the elite scenic spots of "Visit China '97". The queer pines, grotesque rocks, cloud seas and hot springs have always been known as "The Four Unique Attractions of Huangshan".
    Huangshan owns four three-star hotels and some two-star hotels. Now Huangshan City is well connected by domestic airlines to many cities and there are also direct flights from Huangshan to Hong Kong.
    In 1985, Huangshan was selected as one of the ten top scenic sptots in China.
    In 1990, Huangshan was listed by the UNESCO as a world cultural and natural heritage.


The Scenic Spot of the Hot Springs
The Huangshan Tourist Reception Center is near the Hot Springs. The major tourist attractions here are: the Baizhang Spring, the A-shaped Waterfall, the Peach Blossom Stream, the spring where Li Bai washed his wine cup, the Sword-Testing Stone, the Tipsy Stone, etc. The water of the hot spring can be used either for drinking or for taking a bath, which can do good to health and achieve medical results.

The Scenic Spot of the Cloud Valley Monastery
The Cloud Valley Monastery tucks in the quiet vallleys at the foot of the Alms Bowl Peak near the Nine Dragon Waterfall and the one thousand-year-old Yiluo Pine. Here is also the starting point of the cableway from the Cloud Valley Monastery to the White Goose Ridge.

The Scenic Spot of the North Sea
The Spot is a wonderful place which attracts tourists most. The Cooling Platform halfway up the Lion Peak is the best place for enjoying the cloud sea and sun rising; the grotesque scenery of the Begin-to-Believe Peak often makes tourists "begin to believe" that Mount Huangshan is the most grotesque one on earth. There are lots of strange pine trees and odd rocks here, such as the Black Tiger Pine, the Loving Couple Pine,  and many other scenes like "the Flower by a Dreaming Pen", "Two Celestials Playing Chess", and "the Eighteen Arhats Facing the South Sea".

The Scenic Spot of the West Seas
In the spot you can see the Twin Bamboo Shoots Peaks, the Dagger Peak and the Stone Bed Peak, and the scenes like "the Celestial Putting His Boots in the Sun", "the Fairy Doing Embroidery", "Wu Song Beating the Tiger" and so on. You can also see the Stone Flown from Afar, just like a fairy peach perched on the top of the peak. The Paiyun Pavilion here is the ideal place to enjoy the cloud sea, the sun-setting sight, the grotesque peaks and odd rocks.

The Scenic Spot of the Jade Screen
The Jade Screen Hotel, perching itself on a towering peak, has always been called "the Palace on the Fairyland". The three leading peaks (the Bright Peak, the Lotus Peak and the Heavenly Capital Peak) are situated nearby. Of the three peaks, the Heavenly Capital Peak is the steepes and most precipitous one. Two famous pines, the Greeting Pine and the Fare-well Pine, stand respectively before and after the Jade Screen Hotel.

The Scenic Spot of the Pine Valley Nunnery
This is a 10-kilometre-long valley, with abundant fauna and flora. The Jadeite Pool lying between the Lotus Ridge and the Pillow Peak as green as a jadeite. The splashing drops of water are as bright as pearls, thus bringing you great pleasure. The second cableway to the North Sea is just in this spot.

The Scenic Spot of the White Cloud Brook
The place is elegant and tranquil. Here you can see all kinds of waterfalls and limpid ponds. It is a good place for visitors to appreciate the water sight of Huangshan.

Huangshan in Winter
Mt. Huangshan is beautiful in all seasons, but the winter scene on it is distinctively marvellous. There is a lot of snow there. The trees are clean and crystal with ice, the mountains are covered with the silver dress, and a colourful and glazed world will fully present itself before your eyes.

Four Unique Attractions of Mt. Huangshan
Queer Pines: Growing everywhere on peaks, the green pines of Huangshan are ancient and sinewy, grotesque in shape and displaying a variety of exquisite beauties in pose. When looking at the pines with different postures, visitors are bound to marvel at such delicate handiwork of nature.
Grotesque Rocks: Mount Huangshan boasts lots of grotesque rocks with various shapes. All these rocks are vivid in their respective image representation and full of vitality. Looking at the variety of the extraordinary poses these rocks assume, you are sure to be struck by the beauty of the oddly shaped rocks.
Cloud Seas: Mount Huangshan has a mystical glamour for its spectacular sea of clouds all the year round. When the sea of clouds is formed it is very magnificent and stretching to horizon. The great waves of mists and clouds sometimes surge high with momentum of an avalanche, and somtimes they keep still just like another heaven.
Hot Springs: The water constantly at temperature of 42°C is particularly limpid. It is a rare spring of carbonated type with remarkable curative effect on diseases of dermatitis, arthritis and nervous system

The Passenger Cableways of Huangshan
The first cable way from the Cloud Valley Temple to the White Goose Ridge is 2,800 metres long. The second cableway from the Pine Valley Nunnery to the Pine Forest Peak and the third cableway from the Ciguang Pavilion to the Jade Screen Hotel will be put into operation before 1997. When the time comes, visitors will get the view of the whole Huangshan with ease.
