Attractions
   
   Anqing City, located in the southwest of Anhui, is the source of "Tongcheng Culture". It is also the hometown of Chen Duxiu, Deng Jiaxian and so on. Within the boundaries there are many beautiful mountains and clear waters as well as many historic relics, which are frequently visited by tourists. Among them are the Zhenfeng Pagoda, the Yingjiang Temple, the Linghu Park, Xiaogu Hill, Fushan Hill, and so on.

The Yingjiang Temple and the Zhenfeng Pagoda
The Yingjiang Temple is a well-known monastery, which was first built in 974 A.D.. It consists of three courtyards. In the temple there is a building named Zhenfeng Pagoda, known as the number one along the Changjiang River. It was built in 1570, with seven-storey octagonal brick and stone structure like a labyrinth, all its floors open onto each other by true and false stairways, often making the visitors confused.

The Huangmei Opera
Anqing is world-renowned for being the home of the Huangmei Opera. The opera is one of the best local operas favoured by Chinese people, and has great impression on overseas tourists. "A Celestial Beauty Marriage", "An Emperor's Female Son-in-law" and "Playing Festive Lanterns" are the three items most popular in the country.

Xiaogu Hill
Located in the southeast of Susong County in height of 86 meters, Xiaogu Hill towers aloft in the Changjiang River like a huge column. There are many historic spots on the hill.

Fushan Hill
Fushan Hill is located in the north of Zongyang County. There are many scenic spots for tourists to explore -- Caves, peaks and rocks of unusual shapes.

 

   Mt. Tianzhu, the former "Southern Renowned Mountain" granted by Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty in 1068 B.C., is located in the boundary of Qianshan and Yuexi Counties. The scenery with hills and waters as well as the historic relics at the area make a feature of grandeur, beauty, mystery and wonder. The highlights mainly include the Celestial Column Peak, the Mysterious Valley, the imitative stone inscriptions of Sone Ox Cave, the Buddha-Halo Temple, etc. Now the Tianzhu Cable Car has gone into operation with a capacity of 368 people per hour.

The Sone Ox Cave
Surrounded by gree trees, the place is really tranquil. Here you can find over 300 stone inscriptions of nearly every style of Chinese calligraphy. The cave is regarde as a rare treasure house of Chinese culture.

The Sanzu Temple
It is the place where Can (the famous Zenist) once lived. In the temple, old trees grow thick. It consists of "the Great Heroic Hall", "the Heaven King Hall" and so on.
