Shouxian County, a national level place of historic interest, is situated on the bank of the Huaihe River, By the end of the Warring States Period (241 B.C.), King Kaolie removed his capital here. During the Western Han Dynasty, Liu An, the king of Huainan, made it capital again. There are many historical sites such as the Anfeng Embankment, the Tomb of Liu An, the Bao'en Temple.

The Pearl Spring


Ancient City Wall of Shouxian County
The ancient city wall is 10 metres in height, 4 metres in thickness, over 7 kilometres in girth. It is still well-preserved with a history of nearly 1,000 years, which is quite rare even in the whole country.

Pearl Spring
The Pearl Spring is located in the north of Shouxian. It bubbles up day and night and splashes all over, presenting a splendid sight. The spring water is clear, pure and sweetish. Sipping tea made from this spring water is a scarce experience, most visitors are unlikely to forget.

Liu An's Tomb
The Tomb of Liu An is situated at the foot of Bagon Hill. Liu An is a thinker and writer of the Wester Han Dynasty. According to the legend, he is the inventor of bean curd.

Bearn Curd Festival
Every September, the China Bean Curd Festival is held in Huainan City. The visitors came here to tast bean curd, to discuss the bean curd culture, and to visit the scenic spots of Huainan. Trade talks are slso held.
